Aerial Cargo & Logistics Transport

When vital supplies, construction materials, or expedition gear need to reach the most inaccessible regions of the Himalayas, Basecamp Helicopter provides heavy-duty aerial transport. Operating with high-performance aircraft and pilots trained in complex load management, we specialize in both internal cabin cargo and external sling-load operations across Nepal.

Whether you are supplying a remote hydropower project, delivering telecom tower components, transporting medical relief, or moving heavy mountaineering basecamp equipment, our logistics team ensures your freight arrives safely, on time, and completely intact.

How Our Cargo Transport Process Works

Moving heavy freight at high altitudes requires meticulous mathematical planning. We have structured our cargo protocol to maximize payload efficiency while prioritizing absolute safety.

01

Payload & Logistics Planning

The operation begins with a precise calculation of your cargo. Our flight operations team evaluates the exact weight, volume, and nature of your goods against the altitude of your destination. Since helicopter lifting capacity decreases at higher elevations, we strategically plan fuel loads and flight relays to maximize what we can carry per trip.

02

Permitting & Security Clearance

Transporting commercial goods, construction materials, or specialized equipment requires specific clearances. We handle the necessary documentation and coordinate with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and local authorities to ensure your freight is legally cleared for transport.

03

Weighing, Rigging & Loading

Every kilogram matters. All cargo is strictly weighed on the tarmac before loading. For internal cargo, our loadmasters securely tie down the freight inside the cabin to ensure the aircraft’s center of gravity remains perfectly balanced. For oversized materials, we rig external sling nets or long-lines.

04

Transport & Precision Delivery

Once airborne, our pilots navigate the complex valley routes to your destination. Upon arrival at the remote site, we execute a safe landing to offload internal cargo, or perform a highly stabilized hover to precisely detach external sling loads directly onto your designated drop zone.

What We Need to Plan Your Cargo Flight

To calculate accurate payloads and provide an exact quote for your logistics mission, we require the following critical details:

Cargo Manifest

A detailed list of what is being transported, including the exact total weight (in KG) and the physical dimensions of the largest items.

Destination Details

The exact GPS coordinates and, most importantly, the elevation/altitude of the landing zone, as this dictates our maximum lifting capacity.

Type of Cargo

Specifications on whether the goods are standard (food, tents), hazardous (fuel, batteries), or oversized (pipes, generators).

Drop Zone Conditions

Information on the landing area—whether it is a prepared helipad, an open field, or a site requiring a hover-drop.

Ground Support

Confirmation that you have personnel at the destination ready to rapidly safely offload the aircraft or receive a sling load.

Timeline

Your required delivery dates and the flexibility of your schedule in case of mountain weather delays.
